Black & White, Sepia and Color Photography Nicholas Price is a professional photographer using only traditional means and methods of photography. Shying away from digital photography and manipulation, Nicholas uses his natural skill and ability to achieve some amazing results. The following are some of the options available to those considering in becoming new collectors or expanding on their existing collections: Photography There are over 25,000 images available for clients to peruse. Images are available in black and white, sepia tone and color. There are over 100 different themes and collections that can be created especially for your interior environment whether you have a large or small space. Limited edition pieces are numbered below 30 and are printed on silver gelatin or archival paper, signed, sealed and numbered by the artist. For those on a smaller budget, images are available on RC (resin coated) paper and are not offered as a limited run. The items listed in this site are a small sample of what is available from the photographer's archives and portfolio's. Therefore, should you be searching for something specific, please contact us and we will do our very best to assist you. The photographs shown on this website are all original works created by the photographer and are reproduced in a low resolution to aid the speed and easy navigation of this web site. Other sizes are available including larger sizes for exhibitions and conferences as well as in smaller formats and regular non archival prints. We currently offer several types of silver gelatin papers which actually contain silver - RC (Resin Coated) and Fiber Paper that help produce the best black and white photographs as it makes the image pop from the paper. Color paper and digital paper do not contain any silver and Platinum Paper actually contains Platinum. The RC is the most popular for collectors and for displaying as it's easier to mount and easier to preserve long term. The Fiber Paper is an old style of paper base which is more difficult to preserve as it responds badly to extreme climate changes (dry and humid climates can make the paper wrinkle) and must be mounted and kept in a particular way. It also cost at least twice as much as the RC because the process required to produce the photograph is more in-depth and complicated than it is to produce the RC. Museums and serious photography collectors prefer acquiring this format of print. The Platinum Prints are the "Rolls Royce" of the photographic industry. This process is highly technical and very expensive to produce and to purchase in comparison to the other two papers. Nicholas Price has been known to sell his Platinum prints in the several thousand dollar ranges per print and feels that this process is only suited to landscapes, skyscapes and still life studies and not to people studies. Because of the price points of these pieces, Nicholas Price only makes Platinum Prints that come as a commissioned/pre-ordered collection of at least 5 pieces of works. |
